How it works
Pigment inks carry the colour in fine particles held to the surface of the fibre by a binder. After printing, the fabric is cured with heat, which fixes the binder. There is no steaming and no wash-off step, so the process uses less water and energy and a printed metre is ready sooner.
When to choose pigment
- Sampling and first runs, when speed matters most.
- Short runs and many designs in small quantities.
- Vivid multicolour prints on any of our cotton qualities, from tea towel panama to 500 gsm canvas.
From digital to rotary
When a pigment design moves into large volumes, pigment rotary printing takes over on the same cloth, with consistent, repeatable colour.
