Why panama works for tea towels
Panama is a basket weave: pairs of threads cross pairs of threads, which leaves the cloth open enough to take up water quickly and firm enough to lie flat after washing. It is the classic kitchen cloth, and it prints cleanly, so a tea towel can carry a detailed design as well as a solid colour.

Printed or plain
Every quality is available piece-dyed or digitally printed. For photographic or multicolour designs, reactive digital printing keeps the hand soft and the colour washfast; for short runs and fast sampling, pigment digital printing is the efficient route.
