Why double-ply
Each thread in this canvas is two yarns twisted together, in both directions of the weave. The result is a cloth that carries weight, resists abrasion and stands up on its own, which is why it can be made up into a tote bag without a lining.
What it is used for
- Tote bags, shopping bags and heavy-duty bags
- Workshop, barista and chef aprons
- Footwear uppers and accessories
- Upholstery and heavy-duty home textiles
Choosing a weight for a bag? Our guide to canvas weights for tote bags explains where 500 gsm sits.
Thirty colours on the shelf
The canvas is kept in stock in the shades below, so a sample can leave quickly. They are English-style colours, soft and a little dusty rather than bright, and every one is piece-dyed: the same even shade right through the cloth. Colours on screen are indicative; ask us for a physical swatch card.
